Russia Trip

26 March 2005

We went to bed @ 9:00pm and slept til 8:00am. It was the perfect amount to rest. We both woke up feeling rested. The pillows are heavy but surprisingly comfy as well as the bed. I’m not sure if it really is or I’m just that tired. They’ve been keeping us busy and we’ve walked a lot. It’s now 10:45pm (actually 11:45pm Jeremy just found out). It’s Spring ahead night in Russia. Today we met at the Good News Church and rode the tram for the first time. I think I like the metro better. We then split up and went prayer walking around certain areas in the region. I just couldn’t believe all the tall apartments and it was so sad to see the playgrounds and knowing all those children are not Christians. I sure hope the invitations we’ve been stuffing will work (all 15,000). Then we went to eat lunch and have our first Russian chicken experience. It was really good. we even heard American music like Mambo #5 and Makarana. We met up with everyone at the hotel and checked in. Everyone else is now on floors 17 and 18 and we are all alone on the 12th floor. Things aren’t so bad here. The Russians seem to really help us out. Oh, good news today, they found our other bad but we have to go all the way back to the airport tomorrow night because they are keeping it at customs. From the hotel we went to Brad and Lori’s to eat and fellowship and stuff envelopes. It was a great time. Now we are back and ready for bed. Tomorrow we meet up at 10:00am in the lobby for church. Tomorrow will be busy too.
