Super Woman

I just read in the headlines this morning that Christopher Reeve’s wife passed away last night from lung cancer. I’m in shock. Their poor kids! I think I vaguely remember her telling everyone she had cancer but wow. She was so pretty. What a tough couple! She said she had never smoked either. This cancer stuff is getting more and more scary and common for my comfort. Rest in Peace Mr. and Mrs. Superman.

Something different

I’ve been trying to think of some ultra exciting things to type about but haven’t been able to think of much that would entertain any of you haha. Last night Justin wasn’t feeling well and so he went to bed early. I was going to go to bed too but figured I wasn’t tired and he might get to sleep better if it was totally quiet. There wasn’t anything on tv so I grabbed a book I’ve been trying to finish reading for awhile now. It’s so good. I like it so much better than the first one. For those of you that don’t know, I love to read books by Nicholas Sparks. I have read all of them except “Nights in Rhondanthe”. For some reason I couldn’t get into that one at the time I started to read it. I’ll have to get back into that one eventually. My friend Heather got me “True Believer” for my birthday and I read that and I’ve been somewhat of an Indian giver to Stacey. I gave her “At First Sight” for Christmas on the condition that she would let me read it when she was finished hehe. So far I like “At First Sight” much better. They go deeper into Jeremy and Lexie’s life. There’s more scandal and it seems a bit more real. For those of you who have not picked up one of Nicholas Sparks’ books, you really should. They are good for the hopeless romantic and even for guys too. They all take place in North Carolina too. I would suggest “The Notebook” as the first one. It was one of my favorites. I also like “The Guardian” a lot. I haven’t seen the movie “The Notebook” because so many people that read the book first hated it. Maybe someday, but for now I like it best from my imagination. It’s kinda like when you hear someone on the radio and you have a picture of them in your head of what you think they look like and then when you find out what they really look like it just ruins it for you.

Don’t worry Stacey, I don’t know if you read this or not but I only have about 100 pages or so left. I’ll get it back to you soon. Sorry for the delay.

I can’t wait for his next one!

tv

Has anyone seen the Flight attendant school show on the travel channel? Justin and I started watching it. At first we thought it wasn’t going to be very good but we’ve gotten pretty hooked. They really do go through a boot camp like training. It’s neat to see all that they must learn and tests they have to pass. So, anyone seen it? If not, look for it.

Quotes from the Moscow Meeting

I’ve been meaning to share this with you all. I just remembered and thought I’d post before I forgot again. Jeremy gave us a sheet of paper with quotes and scriptures on it that will help us as we prepare for our trip to Moscow and as we are there. Don’t worry, I won’t share all of them with you, just a few that I thought were extra special.

  • Jeremiah 33:3 says, “Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.”
  • Jim Cymbala writes: “If we don’t enjoy being in His presence here and now, then why would He send anyone there (heaven) who doesn’t long for Him passionately here on earth?”
  • “Persistent calling upon the name of the Lord breaks through EVERY stronghold of the devil, for NOTHING is impossible with God.”
  • Matthew 7:7: “Ask and it will be given unto you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.”
  • Jeremiah 29:13: (one of my favorites) “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”
  • James 4:2: “You do not have, because you do not ask God.” (another favorite)

How awesome is that! God has answered every question we have ever had or will ever have right in the Bible. It’s life’s little instruction manual. It must be hard for men to follow since there aren’t any pictures 😉 JUST KIDDING hehe

Wow

God is so awesome! Amen? Lately I feel like I’ve been having “Joan of Arcadia” moments on a daily basis. I really feel like God is directing me and telling me what to do next. It’s the weirdest thing. It’s random moments when someone will be talking and then everything else seems to get quieter and that sentence the person is saying sticks right out at me and seems to answer a question I have. It’s so nice to know that no matter what I do God is there to help me out. Anyone else ever have that? I sure hope so. If not, you just aren’t listening hard enough.

Moscow, Russia

Last night we had our fundraiser planning meeting for our next Mission trip to Moscow. We don’t have exact dates but it will be the first two weeks in October. We have been asked to gather items for a silent auction. If any of you have anything you would like to donate for the cause or know of where I might be able to ask for donations please let me know. It looks like there will be 8 or 9 of us going. And men, please start a prayer chain for Justin, he will be one of only 3 men going on the trip. Girl power! haha. Thank you so much for your continued prayers and help. I’ll keep you updated as we find things out.

Happy Day of Love Everyone

Give your loved ones a big hug or maybe a kiss today and tell them how much you appreciate them and love them. That’s the best gift of all.

I love you guys!
