GWU aids Hurricane Victims with Education
“BOILING SPRINGS, NC – Gardner-Webb University, a master’s comprehensive
university located in Western North Carolina, will waive tuition for
college
students displaced by Hurricane Katrina. The waiving of tuition is
contingent
upon the student satisfying his/her financial
obligation to his/her home institution.
“Desiring to see no displaced college student loose a semester of study
and to see the continued financial stability of sister institutions,
the
administration, faculty, and staff of the university will do all
that it can to make the transition to Gardner-Webb and North Carolina
as
smooth as possible,” noted Dr. Jack Buchanan, vice president of
Enrollment
Management at Gardner-Webb.
Limited housing on campus is available; otherwise, Residence Life will
assist in securing local housing. “To reach out to these victims is the
right thing to do,” added Buchanan, “and it exemplifies the
Gardner-Webb
motto – ‘For God and Humanity.’ When we see the devastation and need,
we offer our prayers of support but we are also
driven to supply physical assistance as well. Providing these students
educational assistance is one thing that Gardner-Webb feels compelled
to
do.”

Got Gas?
Yeah so…everyone is going crazy because of the shortage of gas. This morning gas shot up to $2.99. Luckily I had just filled up before the big price increase. Now there are people lined up on the roads to get gas. Gas stations are closing. My dad said there’s only like one gas station in Brevard that still has gas. I’m sure glad I’m not out in that mess. I hope you all got gas earlier. People just love to panic. Good luck everyone!

No Baby Yet
Well folks, I know you are anxiously awaiting news about the baby. And so far…I don’t have any news. I’m trying to sit on my hands so I don’t keep calling my sister and annoying her. It’s so hard though not knowing, but I’m sure that it’s worse for her having to wait. Hopefully tonight will be the lucky night. If not, she goes back to the doc in the morning and maybe he will help her along. Have I mentioned how excited I am and how I can’t wait?!?! hehe
Baby by Tuesday
Hey everyone…we are still anxiously awaiting the arrival of our nephew. Erin is still doing well. Last Thursday when she went to the doc he told her that he would be going out of town on Wednesday and if she hasn’t had the baby by Tuesday to make an appointment and he would help her along. We were hoping she would have the baby yesterday so we would have the whole weekend to travel and be there but at least we know she will have it by Tuesday. We are so excited and overjoyed. Please remember to continue keeping them in your prayers.

Erin called after her appointment today and it looks like she is 4 centimeters dilated and 90 % effaced, however you spell it. I’m so excited! The doctor said she could go at any time so Justin and I are excited and ready to jump in the car. Please pray for Erin and Mike and the baby that everything will go smoothly in the next few days. Thanks guys! I’ll update more as soon as I can and as soon as I hear something.
