Hooray!

It’s about 8:30am and I’m about to get myself ready to leave for the airport in a little while. Justin is coming! I’ve been telling the boys and Java all morning but I don’t think they believe me. I’m so excited. I’ve been tracking his flight. I’m just praying he won’t have any difficulties catching his connecting flight from Detroit to Charlotte. I think they only have him a window of maybe 30 minutes if they are on time. Run Justin Run hehe. Well, I must go do my wifely and motherly duties while I’m still “single” and then head off. Wish us luck!

It’s been a long time

Sorry guys, I tend to blog in waves. A lot has been going on here lately. I just got done with book rush which wasn’t fun (don’t get me started). I have started my second semester in the MBA program at GWU. This semester I’m taking on the hardest class I believe I’ll have to take (Finance). I believe there’s a reason it’s an F word. So far it’s going ok, I’m taking it in class on Thursday nights from 6-9 (not fun after a long day at work). Luckily my friend Cary is taking it with me so she is helping me through. We decided to take the harder classes first to get them out of the way. I hope that plan works. Justin’s granny was in the hospital a little bit ago. Now she is home and they’ve redone the house to allow her to use her wheelchair. She is one tough cookie and we love her so much!

Now, if you’ve read Justin’s blog entry, then you know that he is in Kentucky this week. He was supposed to come home today originally but had to postpone his arrival until tomorrow due to some work issues. I’m glad now that he had to wait because of this weather. I heard on the news that a lot of the flights today were delayed or canceled. Hopefully he will have better luck tomorrow. I’m so excited. This is the longest we’ve been apart. I can’t wait to hug him and squeeze him and kiss him hehe. I’ll try not to make a big scene hehe.

I love you honey! Be careful tomorrow. I’ll be waiting for you…if I don’t get lost hehe.

Special Visit

This week we had a very special house guest. I wouldn’t call him a guest really, but family. Matt came to visit us for a few days. It has been so fun. I wish Megan could have come but maybe she will get to come for a visit soon (hint hint hehe). It was so nice for Justin to have another guy around for a change and for all of us to have fun and joke around. Thanks for coming Matt! 🙂

On another note, I would like to wish Stacey and David belated birthday wishes. I have been quite slack on my posts. Stacey’s 21st Birthday was on the 23rd and David’s was on the 27th. I love you guys!

Merry Christmas!

It’s almost 1am on Christmas Morning. Justin and I just got back from the late service. My parents and Kelly surprised us and came. I was able to give a short testimony at the service. It was so nice to have someone to sit with while Justin ran the sound. I’m so happy they came. They are crazy to drive that far that late hehe. I hope they have a safe trip home.

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night 🙂

Don’t forget Jesus!

Free Fallin’

Yay! Everyone…I have successfully completed my first semester of Grad School. So far I have only received one grade and that was an A in Business Law. I am still awaiting my grade in Operations Management but considering that I just handed in the final last night around 10 or so, I’ll give him a little more time haha. I’m so excited to be done for awhile so I can get back to real life. I haven’t even started thinking about Christmas yet. I guess that will be this week.

I know that everyone has a busy December month leading up to Christmas so I hope everyone has a great time and don’t forget the real reason for Christmas. It always helps me to put things in perspective.

What I’ve been finding

This is just something I’m going to lay out here and I’d be interested in hearing what you have to say.

I find that the more I tend to listen to God, the more He tends to tell me, show me, and help me.

Shoeboxes

This year our church was able to collect 197 boxes (our goal was 160) for Samaritan’s Purse. Justin and I, along with a few of our fellow church members (Jennifer too hehe), went to the Charlotte Samaritan’s Purse warehouse. It’s an old Wal mart buildling and has lots of room for boxes. To my amazement, every inch of that place was full of boxes. The moment we walked in the door a really sweet woman came and hugged us all and with all the happiness and appreciation she had she welcomed us. We briefly went to a training session to learn about what we would be doing while there. I had never been before. Our job was going to be sorting through each box and taking out any money in it or forms filled out for Samaritan’s Purse. We were told if any money was sent in a box, the child’s life could be in danger. The training lady was able to tell us a story about one of the boxes from a previous year. She explained that as we look in the boxes we shouldn’t have thoughts like, “who would want that stuff?” or “that’s strange”. This particular box she spoke of had mostly white socks in it. The people who went to distribute these boxes noticed a boy off to the side. His was the box with the socks in it. As one of the workers was going to exchange boxes with this boy (thinking he would enjoy a box with toys in it better), the boy told them that he loved the socks. He had wanted socks. He had severely burned feet that were not very attractive and had always wanted something to cover them up so people wouldn’t look at him funny. Isn’t that awesome? God told the person that packed that particular box to put socks in it. He had a plan from the very beginning.

I will let Justin tell you about the special box he opened.

I think the most awesome story of all was one we heard about another box. A woman had gone personally to help distribute boxes in a foreign country. As she was doing so she got separated from the group and couldn’t find her way. She stopped at one of the houses to tell them she was an American and was lost from her group. As she stood there in the house, the little boy ran off to his room and came back with a shoebox he had received. This wasn’t just any shoebox. It was the very box that this woman herself had packed and sent to Samaritan’s Purse. Now you can’t tell me that was a coincidence. I hope that took your breath away like it did mine when I heard it. Just think of the probability of that ever happening. Amazing is what it is. And sent from God.

Yay!

I have just now completed the course work for my Business Law class. All I have left for that class is the Final Exam on December 9th. Now I have to complete one more homework assignment in my Operations class and then the not so fun big project and I’ll be done except exams. I can’t wait! I hope to finish the homework today or by the weekend and then I can spend all of next week on the dreaded project.
