Decision to make

A friend of mine showed me a place in one of his textbooks where it mentions “The Wager” posed by Blaise Pascal (found in Philosophy of Religion by Peterson, 1996 pages 77-79).

Here’s the general gist of the wager idea:

You basically have two choices and within the two choices you have 4 possible outcomes.

Choice 1: You do not believe in God
Choice 2: You believe in God

If you choose not to believe in God and find there is no God, you lose nothing. If you choose not to believe in God and there is a God, you lose everything.

If you choose to believe in God and find there is no God, you lose nothing. If you choose to believe in God and there is a God, you gain everything.

I’m not sure if I agree with all of this but just thought it was something to think about. I have to leave it up to you to decide because I believe in God. Not only do I believe but I know there is a God. Let me know what you think.

Moscow, Russia

Tonight is our first informational meeting about this year’s Mission trip to Moscow, Russia. I’m really hoping a lot of people will come tonight. I’m hoping that some of the old team will return and that we can get some newcomers to join us. The trip looks like it will be the first of October. This won’t leave too much time for fundraising. Please go ahead and start praying that we will find the funds to continue spreading the news of Jesus Christ to those that have never heard it.

I know for those that have never been on a Mission trip that it is hard to get excited about it. My only wish is that I could let you all feel the awesomeness I feel when I know that I’m exactly where God wants me to be and helping to spread word of Him.

If you ever want to know anything about it let me know…or you can look back to last year’s trip and the journal I posted. It was sometime in April 2005

Thanks guys for all you do!

Decision

Some of you are aware of this but I possibly face a big decision in the next week or so.  I can’t say what yet because some of the people may read this blog but please pray for me that God’s will is done and that I will be willing to do what He wants me to do.  Don’t worry it’s nothing bad.  I’ll tell you as soon as I can.  Thanks guys.

Teefers

Hey everyone…Walker has two teeth now and I think another on the way. I can’t believe how fast he is growing.  He can roll over on his own now and I’m sure is well on his way to crawling.  He loves to stand up so he is working those leg muscles. I wouldn’t be surprised if he started walking soon too.  I love my nephew 🙂

Time…

Why is it that while I’m in the bookstore time either goes really fast and it’s crazy busy or it’s slower than dialup? I’m one of those people that has to be busy when at work.  Otherwise I just sit there, bored.  I’ve been trying to think of things to do now that rush is over and I’m already caught up on returns until I can begin them again at the end of February.  All my calls have been returned (I hate the phone).  I guess I’ll just have to wait for the next task.  Anybody else in the same boat?

An Apple a Day…

I was reading through my daily readings and happened upon this link.  Apparently eating an apple a day can be beneficial to our health and can help decrease memory loss in the future. So….how do you like them apples? hehe
