Partay!

Every year…well since last year, I’ve thrown a Halloween Party for the Bookstore crew. This year Justin and I get to have it at our own house! We spent all day yesterday cleaning…and I mean allllll day…well after work. I must say that I love our house! The living room looks more and more like home everyday. Last night we hung up some of our curtains and it really made the place look warm and welcoming. We planted most of the pansies that we bought while in Brevard. I can’t wait til they start to spread and really bloom. The house just looks so good and I hope it stays like that for awhile. Everyone is coming around 5 when I get off work. We got a pumpkin for them to carve and will get pizzas and a movie. I’m ready to have a great, fun night! It’s always nice to spend time with people at work after hours just to have fun.

Can you believe Justin and I spent our 1 month anniversary cleaning???

Well I must get to work. I’ve got to estimate sales and then order. Then sit back and watch the flood gates open.

Have a great Tuesday!

life

I hope you all haven’t given up on me yet. I know I haven’t blogged in awhile. Believe me I have plenty to say (as Justin might say, Don’t I always?) I just have been in a blogging rut lately. I thought things would slow down some once the wedding was over. Now I have other stresses. I’ve been working on Inventory at work. We are getting ready to order Spring books.

The past few days have been revival at Crestview. It really is so awesome to see all the people that came and to feel God’s presence. And to see Him working in all our lives. I can’t tell you the times I got goosebumps just listening to Jeremy sing praises to God. The youth did a “stickin with Jesus” presentation. I wish you all could see it!

I really will make myself sit down at the computer one night and just blog my heart out. I just feel that by the time I get home and sit down it’s time for bed or at least I wish it was. This Saturday Justin and I are helping at the Crestview yard sale. It starts at 7am and we will need to be there early to set up. We live about 20 minutes away. It’s going to be an early morning! But thank God for naps.

Well, I’m gonna get back to work…..

Oh, guess where I’m going on November 5th? to the RASCAL FLATTS CONCERT with my husband!!!! I’m so excited!!!!!!!!! Go get their CD if you haven’t already! You will LOVE every song….as usual!

week before madness

Looks like this is my last “calm” week of the Summer. I’m prepping for inventory and the campers have arrived (if you call that calm). They arrived in Charter buses! Most of them don’t even speak English.

After this week I’ll be counting books (probably in my sleep too), estimating sales for Fall, ordering books, receiving in books (by the 100 cartons or more), pricing and shelving them, and then shipping them out to students (approximately 3000+). Once that is done, Fall rush begins and I will be working 8-8 shifts for about a week. Then there will be problems to deal with I’m sure. And then it is time for the wedding. I might not be able to update much, but it’s not because I’m slacking off.

I’m ready for a vacation already!

Have a great day!

shelves

the time has finally come. yesterday our shelves arrived in 5 pallets. boy did we have fun trying to unload the truck. this is yet another reason we should have a loading dock. i think maybe we should try having the big bosses unload the trucks a few times hehe. justin had the day off and painted another side of the house. I went there for lunch and he volunteered to come back with me to help build the shelves. thank you honey! they look great! now today we are going to build the shirt shelves. i hope they look as good as the book shelves do. Have a great rainy day everyone!

a whole lot goin on

Today has actually been on the busy side of things here at the bookstore. wayne gave us the “ok” before leaving this morning that we could take apart the shelving in the gwu section of the store. i dont quite think we knew what we were getting into when we started out. there was so much dust everywhere! but after a long morning/afternoon we were able to get everything done and put in the way back. we even hung some white table cloths to cover our mess. tomorrow is VIP day here so i hope we dont scare some potential students away hehe. i can’t wait to get the new shelving. it will look so nice! but until then…expect a mess hehe.

have a great weekend!
kelly is coming 🙂

cross-eyed

i’ve been working on an inventory spreadsheet of all the books we have in the bookstore. so far i’m on line 258 (mostly done yesterday). it’s really a pain…cuz every semester i have to create a brand new spreadsheet i.e. (<--for you matt) start from scratch typing in each book title, isbn, author, and price. I can't even use the previous semester's spreadsheet because the books are pretty much totally different. so there isn't an easy way out of it. the bad thing is...i really shouldn't have to do this because i have a computer program (courseworks) that will create a list with all the necessary information on it, but because the big wigs over in webb like spreadsheets, i have to go through all this trouble. it's ok for now because it's been slow around here but next week we start returns. and making sure pricing is right for the inventory is going to be quite a headache since there are at least 3 different prices on the books. i guess it's eeny meeny miny moe 😉 have a great day!

bored!

ok so it’s totally pointless to be open today! no students are here, so basically we are here to stare at each other all day. i know i shouldn’t be complaining while things are calm and simple. in a few days i’ll be dreaming of this moment. i just wanted one more day off 😉 it’s been a busy weekend. a good one….but very busy. we are closing early today (shh) hehe just because 2 out of 5 of us already left and it’s DEAD in here. then i am off to heather’s old place to pick up some things in the truck for justin. we finished painting all the rooms in the house now. all justin has left is the trim and some other odds and ends. i’m so excited and can’t wait til everything is all moved in. it’s gonna look great!

i have a few minutes left here at work so i thought i’d share with you about my weekend since i know you really wanted to know 😉 i had the day off friday and took pixel (yes i finally named my kitten for good) to the vet, justin went with me. He was a very good boy (pixel too) 😉 j/k justin hehe. then i ran around shelby for much of the day and got my hair cut at hair expressions. then justin got off work and we went to his polk county high homecoming game. the other team was slaughtered (75-7). then we went to his parents’ for the night. i fell asleep during the news on the couch and justin was so sweet and made up the bed and brought me to it and tucked me in. then we were off the next morning to wal mart with his dad and then to best buy and target in asheville. finally we arrived at my parents’ house and took justin to see kelly’s daycare. it was a lot of fun but definitely not long enough. then sunday we went to the panthers/titans game. all i can say is GO TITANS! hehe When we got back we moved justin’s living room to his new house and watched a movie. monday was crazy as well and went by way too fast. all in all it was a great weekend.

til next time….
