Another Happy Birthday Wish

Today is my friend Megan’s bday and I would like to wish you a Spectacular day. I hope you don’t have too much school work so that you can go out and enjoy the day with Matt and your family.

Max Jones Continued

Today Max’s obituary is listed in the local paper (Shelby Star). Max was truly devoted to praying for paying off our building debt. All memorials for Max are encouraged to be sent to the Crestview Baptist Church Building Debt. How perfect! Max would have loved that.

Max Jones

Justin and I found out early this morning that a close church friend of ours passed away unexpectedly this morning of a heart attack. His name is Max Jones. He leaves a wife, Kaye Jones, son Joshua Jones, daughter Katie Canipe (about 8 months pregnant with second child) and her husband Luke Canipe (they have a two year old daughter Kately). This is quite a shock. He was such an awesome guy, friend, and Christian brother. He was also one of my Tarheel buddies. He will definitely be missed. Please pray for this family during your day today and for the days to come. Thank you so much!

The “I actually own something syndrome”

I can’t remember if I actually blogged about us paying off Justin’s Passport about a month or so ago. Well last week we made the last payment on my Accord so now we both actually own something!!! Justin jokingly told me the morning that we submitted the last payment for my car, “the car better start!” (haha) but amazingly enough, this morning on the way to work the check engine light came on. I am a firm believer that car dealerships have this magic switch/button they push once you pay off a car to make things start malfunctioning little by little so they can continue to make money off customers for repairs. Hopefully it’s nothing big but I can’t help but wonder about the timing 😉

Another Semester Down…One to Go!

I have finally received my grades for my Spring semester and have been able to pull out two A’s. I’m excited because one of the classes I didn’t know where I stood the whole class (professor never really handed anything back until the night of the exam). The other class I did poorly on the midterm and so I had to do really well on the paper and exam to make an A. I’m not looking forward to the next semester starting in a week from today. The only thing I’m looking forward to is it being my last semester. I have one online class for the first five weeks of Summer. The other is a ten week course on SATURDAYS!!! from 9am-1pm. I guess I’m not getting to go anywhere all Summer. Oh well, I will be FINISHED soon!…if I can just motivate myself to finish and finish well. Thank you all for your prayers and support.

Climbing to the Top

Hey all…today was an amazing day. Justin and I were able to go with our youth to Gardner-Webb’s Broyhill Adventure Course to learn team building skills and climb the Alpine Tower. It was so much fun and we really did have to learn to work as a team to work through the events. After lunch we began the climbing part of the day. I watched for a little while and once most of the youth had given it a try, I decided to test my luck. I didn’t think I’d make it far up but somehow I made it to the top. Justin was my belayer (however you spell it). I was a little nervous about that at first, knowing the life insurance policies I have right now 😉 Just kidding, I knew he wouldn’t let me fall. The tower is 50 feet tall. It was cool to be right up there with the top of the tree line. I’m sure I will be a red lobster by tomorrow but it was well worth it. Please join with me in praying for our youth, that they will take and apply what they have learned today. Thanks!

WOO HOO!!!

I have just submitted my Final for my Marketing Management course!!! This class has been brutal this semester. I must say I have not written that many papers in one class ever! I have written 30 pages in two weeks time. Hopefully all my hard work will pay off when I get my grades. I did poorly on the midterm (let’s not talk about that), but so did most of the class so I have to do really really well on my research paper and final to make an A. I have made all 100’s except one 95 on my assignments so I hope that will be the same for the two hardest assignments. I will let you know as soon as I know. The course has ended two weeks early (I have “paid” for 16 weeks of a course but it is ending in 14). I hope that since I’m turning it in even earlier that I will know my grade sooner. Now I have to complete my other course with a group project/analysis, individual project/analysis, take home exam and final. Hopefully that will go smoothly and quickly so I can hurry up and enjoy my break before Summer classes. Two more to go! Thank you all for your continued prayers. Megan I’m still praying for you! You are almost through the hardest part.
